Introduction
This is a quick step-by-step walkthrough for transferring a .uk domain to 34SP.com. A .uk domain is anything ending in ‘.uk’, for example .co.uk, org.uk, .uk, me.uk etc.
If you have a domain name registered with another domain registrar that you would like to transfer to 34SP.com, please use the following guide. If you want to transfer a non uk domain, please read ‘How to transfer a domain name to 34SP.com’.
Before starting a domain transfer please ensure that the domain name has not expired, or is not expiring within the next 28 days.
Transfer in a .uk domain
STEP 1
Check your WHOIS information
Before starting your domain transfer, we recommend you check the details of your domain registration using our WHOIS lookup page. Simply enter the domain you wish to transfer into 34SP.com, and click on the search icon.
This will return a page of information about your domain name registration. Double check that the domain is not set to expire within the next 28 days. If you domain is set to expire within that period, we do not recommend you continue with the transfer.
We also recommend checking the administrator contact address on your domain. If the contact address is out of date, we advise updating it. If the domain has WHOIS protection on it, we advise disabling it before beginning the transfer.
STEP 2
Initiate Transfer
Before your domain can be transferred to 34SP.com, you will need to prepare your domain for transfer. This involves making changes with the current domain name registrar.
Domains ending in .uk require you to update the ‘IPS tag’ of your domain name to ours, which is ’34SP’. All .uk domain transfers inward to 34SP.com are free.
Please note: Usually this step can be done via your domain registrar’s control panel, although in some cases you may be required to contact them directly.
STEP 3
Begin Transfer
Once the above steps are complete, you are ready to being being transferring your domain into 34SP.com. Simply fill in the form on our domain transfer page.
Once the form has been filled in, click the button labelled ‘Transfer Domain’ and the transfer will be added to your basket. Follow the on screen instructions to complete this process.
When this step is complete, your domain transfer will take 5-7 days to complete.
