How to add a signature to an email in webmail

Introduction

This is a quick step-by-step walkthrough for adding an e-mail signature via the webmail interface.

Please note: This article is only applicable for e-mail mailboxes on 34SP.com’s Mercury Mail system.


STEP 1
Logging into webmail

Firstly, you’ll need to login to your webmail account at http://webmail.yourdomainname.com.

This will bring up a login form. Enter the e-mail address you wish to access for the ‘Username’ and the mailbox password for the ‘Password’. When you have entered the relevant details, click ‘Login’ to access webmail.

Please note: Where domain is ‘yourdomainname.com’, please replace with your own domain name.


STEP 2
Choose ‘Settings’

Once you have logged in, click on the ‘Settings’ tab.


STEP 3
Choose ‘Composing Message’

After you have clicked on the ‘Settings’ tab, you will be presented with a list of options. Please click on the option labelled ‘Composing Message’.

Composing Messages Options

This will bring up a form with a range of different options.

Firstly, set ‘Compose HTML message’ to ‘always’.

Then select ‘Default font of HTML message’ and choose the font you wish to use in your e-mail.

Finally, set ‘Automatically add signature’ to ‘always’.

Once the above settings have been updated, save your changes by clicking the button labelled ‘Save’.


STEP 5
Choose ‘Identities’

After you have saved your settings, click on the option labelled ‘Identities’, the click on your e-mail address.


STEP 6
Add your signature

Firstly, fill in the field ‘Display Name’ with the name you want to display. This will be the name that appears on the ‘from’ field of all your e-mails.

The simply add your signature to the large text box labelled ‘Signature’.

If you check the box labelled ‘HTML Signature’, this will enable a range for formatting settings for your signature, such as font, colour etc.


STEP 7

Add an image to your signature

With the ‘HTML Signature’ box ticked, you are also able to add images to your signature. To do this, simply click the icon that reads ‘HTML’, which opens a pop up box. Just enter the following code into the popup box, with the ‘scr’ being the URL of an image you have uploaded.

When you’re done, click the button labelled ‘Save’ to save your changes.
