Introduction
This is a quick step-by-step walkthrough for added new pages in WordPress.
Pages are used to create static or timeless content on your website, that will not be updated frequently. Examples of pages would be an ‘About’ or ‘Contact’ page. Unlike posts, pages do not display a published date or author and they are not organised into categories.
Creating a new page
STEP 1
Log in to the WordPress admin dashboard
Firstly, you’ll need to log in to the WordPress admin dashboard. To access the login screen, simply go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin
.
At the login screen, enter your username and password into the fields provided, then click the button labelled ‘Login’.
STEP 2
Choose ‘Pages’
After logging in, you will be taken to the WordPress admin dashboard.
Use the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen, and choose ‘Pages’.
STEP 3|
Add new page
The Page screen lists all the pages on your WordPress website.
To create a new page, click on the blue button labelled ‘Add New’.
STEP 4
Give the page a title
You will then be taken to the new page screen, where you will compose your page.
The first thing to do is give your page a title. The title will be the main heading or headline of your page. To create a title, simply click on the text reading ‘Add title’ and start typing.
STEP 5
dd your page content
You are now ready to create your page content. Using the Gutenberg block editor, you can create pages with images, videos, audio, as well as build custom layouts to suit your needs.
For more information on how to use the Gutenberg block editor, read our guide How to use the Gutenberg block editor in WordPress.
STEP 6
Save your page
When you have finished adding your pages’s content, save your work by clicking the ‘Save draft’ option, located in the top right corner.
